Every human being is in search for three things: purpose, power and peace. It is through the discovery of purpose that power and peace become accessible. Between the ages of 23-35, I found myself in search for my calling, my reason for existence, my unique purpose and role that I would play to add value to this world. It was through seeking the counsel of God that I was able to gain this insight. The idea of “living on purpose” recalibrated how I approached life and how I responded to the issues that life presented. I now help young professionals do the same.

My name is Carlton Perkins and I am a speaker and author.
​
I spent 17 years gaining perspective about purpose and leadership as I worked in various roles as an operations professional. Starting in the humble role of utility worker in the manufacturing industry, to being elevated to various management roles in the electrical distribution field, I was able to observe and experience the tenets of leadership and the impact that it has on a team, an organization and society. I challenged what many perceived as being a leader through demonstrating the type of leadership that I saw modeled by Christ Jesus, using that as my template.

My goal is to help people become successful in life by discovering why they were created. I know firsthand how difficult it is navigating through life without a definitive target. I know of the desire to make a mark in life but not knowing where to start or if you really have anything of value to offer. This is why I speak to young adult professionals about redefining leadership and how a perspective change could change your life. God has created every single person with purpose – and success in life will be determined by the awareness and fulfillment of that purpose.

Branches are the mediums that express what the vine within them are producing. Success is determined, defined or characterized by what your target is. Success can be subjective because each of us has a purpose or reason for our existence; therefore my definition of success can be different from the next person’s. Everyone wants to be successful, but if you have not defined success for yourself, how do you know if you have reached it?
